Pedro Nel Cabrera Vanegas is the winner of the Albert Koechlin Foundation’s 2025 Young Talent Short Film Competition for the animated film project SALVA. Congratulations!

Salva, an 18-year-old young woman, belonged to an armed group in her former life. She arrives at a centre for social reintegration. Her past has left deep scars that she can hardly escape. Memories of fleeing her home, military training, abuse and the harsh everyday life as a child soldier in the jungle keep coming back to haunt her.
